The learner driver theory test
Before applying for a first Irish driving learner permit, applicants must complete and pass a learner driver theory test. You can take this computer-based test in any of the 40 Test Centre locations around Ireland. The test is to check your understanding of topics such as:
- Control of your vehicle
- Legal Matters / Rules of the road
- Managing risk
- Safe and socially responsible driving
- Technical matters
