Before applying for a first Irish driving learner permit, applicants must complete and pass a learner driver theory test. In the Republic of Ireland, there are more than forty Driver Theory Test Centre locations spread across the country. When you book your test, you have the flexibility to select a Test Centre that is most convenient for you. Keep in mind that available appointment times might differ between Test Centres. However, during the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to choose your preferred Test Centre and view its current appointment times.
Applying and paying for your driver theory test is a straightforward process that offers multiple options. You can conveniently apply and pay online, or if you prefer, you can obtain the application form (pdf) from the testing service and NDLS (National Driver Licence Service) centers.
